Johnny Depp has revealed he may not star in a fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie- after the Disney chairman left the company. The actor went out of his way to phone the LA Times to tell them that he was unhappy that Dick Cook would no longer be involved in the franchise.
He said: “There’s a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment… it was all born in that office.”
Depp continued: “He said, ‘We’re thinking about doing this Pirates Of The Caribbean movie,’ I said I was in. This was before there was a script or anything. Read full article.

Johnny Depp doesn’t dance for any man, unless that man is director Terry Gilliam. The off-beat heart-throb had to cut a rug in new film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. But the 36-year-old actor displayed his funky stuff under duress, it would appear. Asked on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival who the best dancer was, Terry said: “I think Johnny has to do the dancing (in the film) and he hates dancing.” Terry continued: “He said, ‘men don’t dance’, and yet we get him tangoing.” Asked if he was the only man who could get Johnny on to the dance floor, Terry smiled and winked before waltzing down the carpet and into the auditorium. Johnny Depp, star of Walt Disney Co.’s hugely successful “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, said he was “shocked and very sad” to hear about the abrupt departure of studio chief Dick Cook, whom he called “the sweetest man on the planet and such a gent.” Depp, who said his enthusiasm for a fourth “Pirates” movie has waned with the news of Cook’s exit, said “it seems like the whole town is shocked,” Depp said in a phone interview from London. He said Cook called him a few hours ago to break the news. “He is the utmost gentleman, so he made the call himself. He said, ‘I’d like you to hear it from me before you hear it from someone else or read it,’” Depp said. “He said today was my last day. He didn’t give me a reason.” Read full article. |

Ahoy, mateys! Make fast the mainsail and swab the deck — Johnny Depp says he’s on board for a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film. Captain Jack Sparrow himself sailed onstage Thursday on a pirate ship in Anaheim, Calif. to announce the next installment of the blockbuster Disney franchise: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The movie is slated for summer 2011. Chairman of Walt Disney Studios Richard Cook announced the news to about 5,000 fans on hand for D23, Disney’s answer to Comic-Con. Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom have both suggested in the past that they would not sign on for any more Pirates films. [Source] |

Johnny Depp, arguably the biggest movie star in the world, surprised the audience of Walt Disney Co.’s D23 Expo in Anaheim by sailing on stage in his famous pirate regalia. As 5,000 fans jumped to their feet, the star emerged in full character, with his bleary ballet of the forever besotted Jack Sparrow. Cracking wise about rum he also said he’d like a little snack — that nice frog named Kermit who had been on stage earlier and “probably tastes like chicken.” Read full article. |
