As we previously reported, Tim Burton is currently in pre-production for his much-anticipated project “Alice In Wonderland.”If you are a big fan of the Lewis Carrol’s fantasy novel, you know Burton would be the right director to envision this tale onto the big screen. Reports surfaced today that Burton’s muse Johnny Depp is in talks to star as the Mad Hatter. Although there is no confirmation, we won’t be surprised if Depp does sign on. After all, Depp has starred in six Burton films from “Edward Scissorhands” to “Sweeney Todd.” One role that has been already confirmed is Alice, which will be played by an unknown Australian actress Mia Wasikowska. There is talks that this film could be Burton’s best work. The director will be shooting the movie in 3-D and will combine both live and animated characters.Unfortunately, we all have to wait until March 5, 2010 which is the film’s release date. Let the countdown begin! [Source] |

Seven years after abandoning their first attempt, Hollywood heart-throb Johnny Depp and film-maker Terry Gilliam are trying once again to shoot the film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.Based on the Cervantes novel, the film stars Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny as an advertising executive who travels back in time. In one of the most incident-prone shoots ever, the original attempt to film the flick suffered a variety of accidents, including the set being washed away by a flash flood and one the lead actors taking ill. After just five days of filming, Monty Python star Terry was forced to pull the plug on the project. Since then, the failed movie has found fame as the subject of 1992′s hit documentary Lost In La Mancha. According to a source, the two men, who made Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas together, are now confident that they can finish the production this time. [Source] |

Johnny Depp didn’t make any Public Enemies at the wrap party for his upcoming flick.Unlike his pilfering Jack Sparrow, the real-life J.D. was all generosity when it came to showing the Public Enemies cast and crew a good time at Chicago’s Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. The 45-year-old star hosted a 50-person party and covered each and every head, a source tells OK!.“Johnny’s a true class act,” a source tells OK!. “He picked up the tab and left a great tip!”Such magnanimity isn’t new for Johnny. Last month, he kept his word to a 12-year-old fan and sent a fedora he wore in Public Enemies to the young boy when production wrapped. Also in the package? Gifts for the boy’s siblings and a personal note. [Source] |
